Thursday, August 26, 2010 : Three Amigos

"You wanna die with a man's gun. Not a sissy gun like that." - Jefe After 5 bosses the 50th shard for our 3rd Shadowmourne finally dropped, and before we could say, "Where's Scooty?" he was down at the front of the zone turning in his quest for his "man's gun." Now, I won't say these three can dance like the actual Three Amigos, but I will say when they went to charge up their axes Rimar might have accidentally pressed his ground mount button and rode off the edge. This week when we go to face El Guapo once again, we'll have another set of toys to add to our collection. Jefe: I have put many beautiful legendaries in the storeroom, each of them filled with little suprises. El Guapo: Many legendaries? Jefe: Oh yes, many! El Guapo: Would you say I have a plethora of legendaries? Jefe: A what? El Guapo: A *plethora*. Jefe: Oh yes, you have a plethora. El Guapo: Jefe, what is a plethora? Jefe: Why, El Guapo? El Guapo: Well, you told me I have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has *no idea* what it means to have a plethora. Grats Scooty!

Thursday, July 22, 2010 : Pimp My Ride 2.0

Somewhere along our journey through Northrend, we decided that our Ironbound Protodrakes were seriously last season. In fact, no stylish raider would be seen on one of those large, cumbersome, and tempermental mounts in this age of fashionable raiding! So, we decided that we'd go on our way to look for a newer model. And maybe we could spring for a few accessories and perks when we upgraded, like hand stitched kodohide saddles! We searched mount dealers low and high for a replacement. Ultimately, however, we looked no further than Arthas' trusty...er, stead, Sindragosa. If frostwyrm's were what Arthas had determined to be the most reliable (and fashionable) transportation around Northrend, we just had to have one for ourselves! You look fabulous darling! Fabulous! Work it, work it! (Grats all!)

Wednesday, July 7, 2010 : Orange is the New Purple!

As we have been battling summer through the cold halls of ICC, a few interesting things have happened. Sure, we've had the summer slumps where we've been short a person here or there, or haven't had the right group make up to work the hard modes we've been eying. But you know...that sorta worked out OK for us. We've still been keeping frosty in Arthas' den of madness, but on those nights when the summer sun seems like more fun than raiding...well, we still muddled through them just fine. In fact we ventured back in to visit a few old friends of ours, Yogg Saron and Algalon. We got some folks fast, pimp, new protodrakes, but somehow we managed to find a few other things on the way. Let me proudly introduce Monolith's third Val'anyr (we won't talk about how our once Holy/Disc priest is now fabulously filled with shadowy goodness!). A year after her adventure started Zara's quest is complete. Grats Zara! Oh, what was that? You are curious about that other guy standing next to Zara? Ah, well, we were also lucky enough to have forged a second Shadowmourne as well! Of course, I think that there is a story to be had here: While all three of our healers patiently waited, collecting their 30 fragments, quietly complaining in private channels, our DPS has proved quite different. Perhaps it's in the nature of the classes that we play. And while this most recent Shadowmourne took 6 weeks to craft (as oppsed to 6+ month/Val'anyr!)...the DPS was more, well, verbose about their displeasure towards lady RNG when she failed to grace them. But in the end, they too were blessed with their shiny legendary fragments. However, I do fear that we may have created a monster. Our next fragment recipient, while often quiet and shy, seems to have been overtaken in his lust for fragments. And I imagine that the stories to be told as he slaughters his way through ICC will be legendary in and of themselves! Yes, I do think that Scooty will make us long for the days of Rimar and Chadly. We will think that they were almost mute in comparison! Alas, Monolith will know thy name, Scooty! Just not yet! First, we must relish in the glory of the purple swirls wielded by the mighty Chadly! Grats Chadly! (and may your swirls prevent much trash lootage by Mulligan!) No penguins were harmed in the making of this picture...ok well, a few were harmed but how else was Chadly going to get swirlies?

As we have been treking through our hard mode adventures, we seem to have collected enough of these shiny orange shards to melt them all together. Grats Rimar!
